    Job Description

    A client of Insight Global is looking for a remote Technical Business Analyst position at to join their team. This individual will play a key role in designing and maintaining a coherent, outcome‑oriented metric framework across the company’s professional learning ecosystem. This individual will partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand the customer journey, map new or evolving business processes from source systems to outputs, and ensure measurement is captured appropriately. Over time, the candidate will clarify the business impact and decisions each Weekly Business Review (WBR) metric supports, framing them around outcomes, inputs, and controllable drivers in alignment with Working Backwards principles.

     

    The ideal candidate will excel at interviewing stakeholders to uncover the real business question behind each metric, capturing trade‑offs such as speed versus precision, and authoring clear metric definitions including name, logic/formula, sources, grain, and ownership. They will translate business asks into data‑ready specifications (tables, fields, joins, filters, date logic, segments), collaborate with Data Analytics, Engineering, and Operations to validate data structures, and define simple acceptance criteria. Additionally, this individual will reconcile inconsistent definitions across teams, help shape a standard intake process for metric requests, and maintain organized documentation for reuse.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or in a similar role working between business stakeholders and data or technical teams.

    • Hands-on experience with data or business intelligence projects, such as defining metrics or reporting requirements, supporting dashboard builds, or working alongside Analytics, Engineering, or Operations teams

    • Base working knowledge in SQL

    • Experience working in messy, multi-system environments where data lives in multiple tools and not everything is documented. · Proficiency and experience within PowerBI

    • Experience working backwards doing Weekly Business Reviews (WBR's)
