Position Description
We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Merkenschlager Lab in the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. The work of the Merkenschlager Lab focuses on germinal center interactions and how they promote the development of an acquired immune response. We welcome applications from PhD graduates who are interested in this or a related field, particularly those who may bring a new technology, and/or advanced microscopy skills and/or in fresh intellectual perspective to bear on the work in the lab.
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Merkenschlager to develop an independent research project within the scope of the lab’s research. In addition to carrying out bench research, the successful candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts, participate in teaching and mentoring of lab members as needed, and otherwise contribute to overall lab operations and collaborative environment.
Basic Qualifications
• PhD and/or MD in immunology, cell biology, or a related field
• Experience with mouse work and mouse colony management
• Expertise in flow cytometry and microscopy
