Younker 5 is a dynamic 22-bed Renal, Transplant, and Urology unit, proudly home to Central Iowa’s only transplant center. Our team specializes in complex medical-surgical care, offering nurses the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients undergoing life-changing procedures.

Responsibilities
The Unit supervisor: Provides leadership as part of unit management team. Coordinates unit management activities in conjunction with manager/director. Facilitates unit staff development in collaboration with manager/director. Carries out the day-to-day operation plan of the unit under the direction of the manager/director. Serves as a resource to other health team members on the assigned unit. Works collaboratively with other departments to facilitate cost effective health care. The patients to be served may include: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assumes patient care assignment based on unit needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree upon hire.
BSN
Experience:
One year experience as a registered nurse.
Experience in specialty area.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current Iowa license as a registered nurse.
Current BCLS (CPR)
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional educational and lifestyle backgrounds.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
