Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a **2nd Shift** **CNC Mill Machinist II or III** for our Burbank location. **Hours are Monday-Friday 2:30pm - 11:30pm.**

Job Summary:

The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions:

+ Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters

+ Validate material used

+ Maintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; Know when to replace worn tools

+ Listen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems

+ Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standards

+ Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps

+ Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Non-Essential Functions:

+ Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On-Time Delivery (OTD)

Minimum Qualifications:

+ **Experience:** 2+ years of experience machining with CNC Mills, preferably in aerospace manufacturing. Experience on 4-5 axis CNC Mills (Mazak machine, Fadal, Toyoda experience preferred).

+ **Knowledge** : Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages; Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations; Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing; Understanding of cutting tool Geometry; Knowledge of tooling and coordination

+ **Skills/Abilities:** Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure; Good verbal and written communication; Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping

+ **Education/Certification:** High School Diploma or equivalent

+ **Eligibility Requirement:** This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience working with Mazak, Fadal, or Toyoda CNC machines

+ Understanding of CNC G Code

+ Understanding of basic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry

+ Excellent teamwork skills

Working Conditions:

+ Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

+ Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

+ May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

+ Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary

+ Standing: 100% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

+ Sitting: 0% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

+ Lifting (in pounds): up to 30 pounds

+ Pushing (in pounds): up to 50 pounds

+ Mental/Visual: use of microscope, computer and blueprints

+ Workspace: clean bench, measuring table

Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.

Hourly Ranges for CNC Machinist II and III. The level of the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities.

CNC Machinist Level II: $34.00 to $44.00

CNC Machinist Level III: $28.00 to $46.50
