Novant Health is seeking a Full-Time, Pharmacy Tech I - Certified, to join our Home Delivery pharmacy team, to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.

What You'll Do
Essential functions include:
+ The Home Delivery Pharmacy Technician is responsible for processing, preparation, and filling of specialty prescriptions
+ Perform non-sterile compounding and repackaging
+ Answer and screen telephone calls and referring calls to a pharmacist when appropriate
+ Use point-of-sale to support customer service needs
+ Support shipping of specialty medications by preparing supplies and ensuring ice packs are re-stocked
+ Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and software
+ Package, ship and track all packages to ensure they are delivered to the appropriate address and within set timeframes for medication integrity
+ Process prescriptions in a timely order and manner so as to best take care of patient needs
+ Receives and accurately transcribes orders from prescribers under the supervision of a pharmacist
+ Utilize EPIC/Patient Management system to review and process prescription information
+ Thoroughly document patient encounter(s) via Epic/Patient Management system to meet accreditation standards
+ Answer and screen telephone calls and referring calls to a pharmacist when appropriate
What We're Looking For
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year/Associate Degree, preferred.
+ Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred. If Associate's Degree in Pharm Tech, experience is included in schooling.
+ Licensure/Certification: Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy, required. PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire or proof of enrollment in pharmacy school/FPGEE/FPGEC, required.
+ Additional skills required: State Registration and/or evidence of renewal is required for both Pharmacists and Technicians fifteen days prior to expiration and Technicians are required to be either certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or be actively enrolled in pharmacy school, or be active in Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) or Foreign Pharmacy Equivalency Certification (FPGEC). Considerable knowledge and application of basic math skills, including ratio and proportion relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic technology skills. Other duties as outline in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
+ Additional skills preferred: Considerable knowledge of medication names (both trade and generic) and their doses, routes of administration, and adverse effects; the ability to demonstrate patient interview skills and strong written and communication skills with other healthcare professionals.
