    Job Summary:

    NRG’s East division is seeking Senior Level UX/UI Designer to support the user experience design needs on their digital team. The candidate will handle all aspects of UX/UI design from conceptualization, detailed user interfaces, and functional design, through implementation of features and usability review.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Design, conceptualize, and create well-designed customer-centric experiences aligned with mobile responsive best practices

    + Partner with digital, agile, and technical teams to drive user experience design enhancements that support over-arching goals of engagement and conversion

    + Leverage a variety of sources (research, best practices, user flows, wireframes, stakeholder input and requirements, etc.) to develop visualizations that effectively communicate interaction and design ideas

    + In project meetings, design sessions, or other relevant contexts, champion the needs of the user, focusing on a human-centered design philosophy.

    + Rapidly produce mockups and prototypes for proof-of-concept opportunities

    + Produce design assets from low fidelity concepts through to high fidelity wireframes that can be brought to life by the digital development teams

    + Engage in iterative design processes and agile development methodologies

    + Collaborate with designers, developers, product owners, stakeholders to build scalable solutions that improve the user experience and support business goals.

    + Leverage existing UX patterns & defined conventions and standards; Remain up to date on best practices, trends, and patterns in modern UX design

    + Manage multiple and concurrent projects and initiatives, keeping them on schedule and within scope

    + Pair with digital team to understand measurable outcomes of user experience changes and ideate on additional optimizations that may be needed

    + Participate in digital experience testing efforts, when needed

    Working Conditions:

    + Hybrid work schedule

    + Occasional travel for team events

    Minimum Requirements:

    + High school diploma or GED

    + 5+ years of experience in a UX designer role

    + Solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD) principles and usability; experience with best practices in web and mobile responsive design

    + Highly developed presentation skills and ability to substantiate design decisions

    + Experience documenting interaction details, visual design specifications, and QA of implemented product

    + Demonstrated ability to define innovative approaches to complex design problems, and translate audience, technology, and other key product requirements into effective UI design solutions

    + Technical excellence in prototyping and design systems with Figma

    + Strong project management skills, and excellent verbal and written communications

    + Portfolio of beautiful design work that solved business challenges

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Design, UX, or related field, preferred

    • Energy experience preferred, but not required

    Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • HTML, CSS, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are a plus.
