Primary Purpose
The T&S Foreman is responsible for the safe and productive implementation of all work tasks related to the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of transmission and substation assets, as well as ensuring compliance with all EED safety requirements and adherence to established procedures. This position is also to ensure reliability of EED operations by creating work packages for repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment modifications. Develop work plans that ensure that work force operates in a safe and efficient manner by (1) determining applicable EED policies, programs and processes; (2) identifying relevant codes and standards; and (3) incorporating industry and operational lessons learned.
Primary Duties
1. Must demonstrate characteristics of the leadership fundamentals and enforce the T&S Fundamentals by serving as a role model and providing feedback and coaching as needed. Provide direction for corrective maintenance repairs, predictive maintenance, preventative maintenance and the execution of modifications and projects. Determine procedures, drawings, equipment, estimated time, materials and specialized labor required to perform planned work packages. Formulate and document appropriate plans for maintenance work in tailored work packages and instructions after consulting with company specialists and reviewing requirements that are determined as necessary.
2. Serves as a liaison to supervision and management by reporting and providing feedback concerning possible shortcomings, training requirements and job quality analysis.
3. Audit and perform job briefs. Conduct field walk downs, when appropriate, to identify and analyze corrective and preventative maintenance, modifications and project activities. The walk down serves as a method for refining and improving the work package process. Interface and collaborate with Work Management, Supply Management, TSO, OCC and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues.
4. Able to perform and audit performance of all system switching activities in compliance with the LOTO procedure.
5. Communicates with designated authorities and work teams to establish a safe zone of protection and ensures teams compliance with work area protection requirements, minimum approach distance requirements and ensures safe grounding requirements are met.
6. Must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization and demonstrate a willingness to perform in a supervisory capacity.
7. Facilitate package preparation by developing and/or submitting CRs, contract requisitions, environmental requests and other requests. Select and purchase, or make procurement recommendations, for all material needed for work package completion.
8. Develop and verify work instructions and requested zones of protection to ensure adequacy and compliance with all applicable EED procedures and governmental regulations (i.e. clearance, Ready to Start, Pre-energization, OSHA, lockout/tagout etc.) Approve and review all required work packages to ensure safety, high quality and detail.
9. Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to facilitate and enhance work package development and maintenance direction on an ongoing basis to improve safety and quality
Minimum Qualifications
+ Must have a minimum of 5 years of satisfactory performance in the maintenance, construction and operation of substation transmission and distribution systems.
+ Must have satisfactory performance rating for current and previous year.
+ Must have satisfactory attendance and ability to meet minimum call out expectation/or storm responsibilities.
+ Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
+ NACE AMPP certification
+ Underground transmission experience preferred Cathodic Protection experience preferred
+ Previous Passport experience.
