How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Industrial Hygiene Graduate Intern will assist Delta’s Manager of Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene with occupational air sampling, noise monitoring, heat stress evaluation, water testing, ergonomic evaluations, and other assessments of the workplace and passenger environment.
The Graduate Intern's work schedule will be full-time during the Summer 2026 semester and will be able to work part-time during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters during the school year.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Qualified candidate must be enrolled as a current/active student in an accredited graduate program at a college and/or university
+ Candidate must have completed the first year of graduate program
+ Candidate must be willing to commit to the duration of the internship which may last up to 12 months or longer
+ Candidate must be willing to work full-time during the Summer 2026 semester and will be able to work part-time during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters during the school year
+ Must have flexibility to work occasional nights, early mornings, or weekends. Some overnight travel required
+ Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship
+ Able to travel for company business up to 20%
+ Work with minimal supervision and direction
+ Balance multiple assignments
+ Handle confidential material appropriately
+ Demonstrate strong technical written and oral communication skills
+ Interact with internal and external customers of all levels
+ Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel, and have experience with data management
+ Function effectively in high pressure situations
+ Comfortable with extensive work travel
+ Self-starter
+ Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce

+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
+ Currently obtaining a Master's in Public Health, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field
