Description:
Position Purpose:
Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group** is looking for a **Surgical Scheduler** to join the **Plastic Surgery** team located in **Hartford.
The Surgical Scheduler schedules pre and postoperative surgical procedures under the direction of the provider. Responsible for coordinating the OR and surgeon's schedule. Effective in obtaining demographic and insurance information and providing details to patients.
What You Will Do:
+ Communicates effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients and family members
+ Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
+ Understanding of computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
+ Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork
Minimum Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 2+ years Healthcare office experience. Medical terminology preferred.
+ Prior surgical scheduling experience highly preferred
+ Proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and skill navigating through the Epic and Epic Care. Surgical booking protocols, medical terminology and Epic experience desirable. Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Considerable tact required in most duties to achieve results.Must have the ability to work well with others in a very busy, close environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
