    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    Provides real-time, moment-to-moment monitoring and control decisions for the 24x7 operation of the AECC transmission system. Operates the AECC transmission system in a coordinated manner with the AECC Real-Time Power Market Operations Center (PMOC), AECC Generation Operations Center, and neighboring utilities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Monitors and operates the AECC transmission facilities.

    + Accountable for safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the AECC transmission assets on both BES and non-BES transmission systems.

    + Ensures transmission system is operated consistent with NERC Reliability Standards.

    + Manages and resolves transmission issues on the system, including the shedding of firm load.

    + Directs and manages transmission and interconnection assets to maintain compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.

    + Operate SCADA control system in safe and reliable manner to ensure reliability of member loads.

    + Responsible for all switching performed for daily transmission operations.

    + Responsible for the restoration of the transmission system and maintaining documentation for regulatory compliance.

    + Ensures adherence to safety standards during high voltage switching and maintenance operations.

    + Produces and participates in peer check process and executes written switching orders.

    + Directs personnel to trouble shoot issues during periods of abnormal transmission system conditions.

    + Monitors and maintains transmission system within normal operating parameters.

    + Accumulates and analyzes transmission system operating data for evidence and reporting purposes.

    + Coordinates with interconnected utilities to maintain stability and integrity of the transmission grid.

    + The ability to handle necessary stress and work reasonably well with others are essential functions of this position.

    + Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    + Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.

    + Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + Operator II - Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Operator III -Bachelor's Degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    + Operator II - Must obtain NERC Transmission Operator Certification within 24 months.

    + Operator III -NERC Transmission Operator Certification is required having either the RC, TO, or BT Certification.

    While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear; regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; color vision; and ability to adjust focus.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    + Experience and knowledge of current MISO and SPP standards, operating policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    + In-depth knowledge of interconnected transmission system operations, generation characteristics, and electric utility power system control systems and practices.

    + This position is classified as "mission critical" to the operations of the cooperative and attendance is required regardless of inclement weather conditions or area state of emergency.

    + In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes.
