We are seeking a Senior Platform Developer / Infrastructure Developer (Senior Software Engineer III) to design, build, and support the cloud platforms and shared infrastructure that power enterprise applications and ELT/ETL pipelines. This role is responsible for developing scalable, secure, and highly reliable platform components that enable engineering teams to deliver efficiently and safely into production. The position focuses on infrastructure automation, cloud-native services, CI/CD platforms, and production reliability. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable owning platform services end-to-end, and experienced supporting mission-critical systems in production environments.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing platform and infrastructure improvements, developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code, optimizing CI/CD workflows, and supporting platform services in live environments. The role also involves troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues, managing production incidents, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors when needed.

This position includes participation in an on-call rotation (every 3 weeks) and requires comfort handling production incidents such as infrastructure outages, application restarts, dependency issues, and P1 escalations with vendors (including Microsoft). The role also provides technical leadership through code reviews, design guidance, documentation, and mentorship of apprentice platform engineers.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent career experience.

+ 6+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or software engineering within enterprise environments.

+ Strong proficiency in Python (primary language) for automation, tooling, and platform development.

+ Experience with Spark / PySpark, SQL, and Shell scripting; familiarity with Java is a plus.

+ 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, including independently building and managing EC2 instances and core cloud services.

+ Working knowledge of Azure environments; ability to operate with admin-level access (dedicated super-admin team manages accounts).

+ Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git), and DevOps tooling.

+ Strong background in platform reliability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.

+ Experience supporting production platforms in Linux and Windows environments.

+ Familiarity with data engineering tools such as AWS Glue, Lambda, Jupyter Notebooks, and Spark-based workflows.

+ Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

+ Working knowledge of Agile/SDLC, ServiceNow, and JIRA.

+ Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

+ Experience mentoring apprentice engineers and contributing to technical standards and best practices.
