Description

We are looking for an experienced General Counsel to join our team. This is 100% remote, MUST have Pharma/Biotech or Consulting Firm Industry experience. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate with a strong background in corporate law, commercial contracts, data privacy and governance. As the General Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal strategy and ensuring compliance within a dynamic and growing organization. Responsibilities:

• Oversee corporate legal matters, including compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts to support business operations.

• Provide strategic legal advice on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

• Ensure data privacy compliance within the biotech and healthcare industries.

• Collaborate with leadership to align legal strategies with organizational goals.

• Establish and develop the legal department, including hiring and mentoring team members over time.

• Address complex legal issues related to the life sciences, healthcare, and biotech sectors.

• Serve as the primary legal advisor, offering counsel on risk management and policy development.

• Monitor changes in laws and regulations that impact the organization and implement necessary adjustments.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Counsel, with a preference for candidates with consulting firm experience.

• Expertise in corporate law, commercial contracts, and mergers & acquisitions.

• Familiarity with data privacy regulations in the biotech or life sciences sector.

• Background in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable.

• Strong negotiation skills and experience handling complex legal agreements.

• Proven ability to manage legal teams and establish departmental structures.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
