The Senior Epidemiologist plays a critical role in leading epidemiologic data analysis to support therapies and marketed products within the nephrology portfolio. The role involves working with evidence-based medicine or outcomes research, focusing on observational studies to evaluate medical interventions.
Responsibilities
+ Apply company policies and procedures to resolve complex issues.
+ Work independently on day-to-day tasks and receive general instructions for new assignments.
+ Analyze problems of broad scope by reviewing various factors.
+ Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions.
+ Build productive working relationships with colleagues.
+ Assist other staff with complex tasks requiring a higher level of understanding.
+ Escalate issues to the supervisor/manager as necessary.
+ Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
+ Conduct data analysis for evidence-based medicine (EBM) studies requested by management and colleagues.
+ Contribute to EBM study design, objectives, and ensure quality control on analyses.
+ Identify and use various data sources including corporate research databases and major registries.
+ Collaborate with Corporate Research to analyze data.
+ Support IT infrastructure for databases and conduct statistical SAS programming.
+ Define rigorous statistical and epidemiologic methods in observational research.
+ Document and track all studies and database projects.
+ Consult as an internal advisor on statistics and data analysis for observational research.
+ Communicate analyses externally through abstracts, posters, or manuscripts.
+ Ensure all deliverables meet timelines, budget, procedures, and quality standards.
+ Support the development of study schedules and budgets.
+ Coordinate outsourcing to Contract Research Organizations (CROs) or other third parties if needed.
Essential Skills
+ Epidemiology expertise
+ Proficiency in SAS programming
+ Experience in study design and data analysis
+ Knowledge of observational studies and real-world evidence
+ Familiarity with pharmaceutical and medical device sectors
+ Understanding of FDA regulations
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Training in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, and/or health services research.
+ Direct analytics experience with HEOR, Data Management vendors, Pharma, or Medical device companies.
+ 5+ years of related experience with a Master’s degree.
+ 1+ years of related experience with a Doctoral degree.
Work Environment
The position requires approximately one day per week in the office, currently located in Lexington, with a potential future move to Waltham. The number of office days per week may increase over time.

This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
