    Quality Control Technician

    Job Description

    The Quality Control Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with GMP and SQF standards. This position involves routine and non-routine viscosity testing, environmental testing, pre-operation checklists, and equipment verification and validation. Responsibilities also include managing corrective actions, holding non-conforming materials, and controlling raw materials.

     

    PAY - $20-$24Shift Timings1st Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Mon-Thu), occasional Fri/Sat 4-hour shifts

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct routine and non-routine viscosity testing.

    + Perform environmental testing and complete pre-operation checklists.

    + Verify and validate equipment.

    + Implement corrective actions for non-conforming materials.

    + Control raw materials in compliance with GMP and SQF standards.

    + Maintain the laboratory, ensuring adherence to good laboratory practices.

    + Ensure a clean and safe working environment.

    + Communicate effectively between departments.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in a GMP-regulated environment as a Quality Assurance Technician.

    + Proficiency in basic math, written, and verbal communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

    + Experience with pH meters, titration, and viscosity testing.

    + Knowledge of FDA regulations.

    + Experience in a laboratory setting within food manufacturing.

    + Understanding of SQF standards.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + quality assurance, quality control, or laboratory work.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    + Capability to frequently stand and walk through a manufacturing environment.

    Work Environment

    The position involves 60% laboratory-based work and 40% on the manufacturing floor. The work schedule is the 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, with occasional Friday and Saturday shifts of 4 hours each. You will be part of a small, tight-knit team with 2-3 members on shift at a time. The work environment offers room for upward movement within the company, proximity to the R&D team, and opportunities to work with new clients and products.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hazelwood, MO.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
