Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operations, including machining, painting, quality control, customer service, and general assembly. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing production planning, scheduling, and budget planning processes. They will ensure the optimization of our manufacturing processes, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and future demand.
Responsibilities
+ Implement production planning, scheduling, and budget planning processes, including cost and capital expenditures with ROI justification.
+ Analyze costs, variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
+ Review and optimize current manufacturing processes with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and future demand.
+ Coordinate with other business units to establish centers of excellence to meet total revenue targets while maximizing revenue.
+ Collaborate with and support internal departments (Finance, Sales, Supply Chain) within a matrix structure.
+ Ensure compliance with export control and adherence to ITAR and EAR standards, as well as EHS/OSHA regulations.
+ Lead the product realization process for prototyping and small serial production.
+ Develop and execute annual plans in coordination with senior management, considering program expansion, volume increases, and future business needs.
+ Facilitate technology transfer between European and U.S. sites for production processes.
+ Build and maintain a well-run organization, fostering a friendly and fast-paced work environment.
+ Promote teamwork and success through continuing education, structured communication, and the implementation of new technology.
+ Implement global standards in operations for HSE, production systems, and KPIs.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related field.
+ Minimum 5 years of management experience as a Manufacturing or Production Manager in a customized engineering and manufacturing environment.
+ Experience in manufacturing electro-mechanical components.
+ Operations management and continuous improvement expertise.
+ SAP experience with a preference for SAP implementation experience.
+ High-mix / low-volume manufacturing involving complex product design and manufacturing.
+ Knowledge of quality management systems and processes (ISO 9001).
+ Experience in cost management/control, planning, and budgeting.
+ Proficiency in quality assurance tools, including FMEA and failure analysis methods.
+ Experience in unionized plant operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Excellent communication, public presentation, and meeting management skills.
+ Strong understanding of quality improvement processes, certification, and auditing.
+ Practical experience in process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
+ Additional experience in electrical engineering and customer-oriented design of components and value-added subassemblies for low-volume/high mix production.
+ Reliable and strategically minded with a highly motivated personality.
+ Team leader, coach, and integrator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Quality-conscious, well-organized, and detail-oriented with a hands-on approach.
+ Independent and self-motivated with the right amount of drive.
+ A good fit for an international culture.
Work Environment
Our state-of-the-art aerospace and defense facility is located in Lodi, NJ. The New Jersey facility employs approximately 70 people, with 50 in operations and the remainder in support roles such as engineering, HR, and finance. Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Lodi, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
