Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist to
support in‑vitro studies for cancer drug discovery programs. This contract role
focuses on developing and applying preclinical model systems to identify and
validate novel therapeutic targets. The ideal candidate brings strong molecular
and cellular biology expertise, works independently, and demonstrates a solid
understanding of cancer biology. Experience with oncogenic signaling pathways
and targeted therapies is highly advantageous. The Scientist will partner
closely with their supervisor to design and execute research plans that address
key mechanistic questions around compounds and targets under evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design, execute, and interpret experiments using chemical and genetic modalities with a high level of scientific independence.
+ Develop and deploy disease‑relevant preclinical models to interrogate target biology and explore complex mechanistic hypotheses.
+ Contribute to small‑ and large‑molecule screening efforts across exploratory research and lead optimization programs, ensuring high‑quality, translationally relevant data.
+ Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams within drug discovery to advance shared program goals.
+ Adapt to evolving project needs by acquiring new technical skills and competencies as required.
+ Communicate complex scientific findings clearly to internal and external audiences through written reports and presentations.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Stem Cell Biology, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience; OR Ph.D. with 3+ years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
+ Demonstrated experience developing, optimizing, and executing functional cellular assays (e.g., proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis).
+ Strong theoretical and hands‑on expertise working with primary stem cells; experience in hematopoietic stem cell biology or myeloid malignancies (MPN, MDS, AML) is strongly preferred.
+ Proficiency in core molecular and cellular biology techniques, including:
+ ELISA
+ MSD‑based assays
+ Western blotting
+ Multicolor flow cytometry
+ CRISPR/Cas9 gene‑editing platforms
+ Experience with CRISPR‑based screening approaches is a plus.
+ Familiarity with 3D tissue or organoid models to recapitulate disease biology in physiologically relevant systems.

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, DE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.27/hr.
