    Job Title: Pharmacy Floor TechnicianPosition Summary

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Floor Technician to support the preparation, packaging, and verification of prescription medications. This full‑time role consists of five 8‑hour shifts per week, including weekdays and every other weekend, with a rotating two‑week schedule. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced environment that plays a vital role in patient care.

    Primary Responsibilities

    + Accurately and efficiently fill daily medication orders under pharmacist supervision.

    + Assist with processing returned medications, ensuring proper recycling or disposal according to procedure.

    + Prepack commonly used medications, label them, and store appropriately during slower workflow periods.

    + Manually package materials and products as needed.

    + Pull and pick medications from shelves and storage areas.

    + Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to ensure accuracy.

    + Notify the on‑duty pharmacist of any medication or product that does not scan correctly.

    + Maintain clean, organized workstation areas and restock supplies as needed.

    + Follow all applicable regulations, including HIPAA.

    + Work overtime, holidays, and weekends when required.

    + Adhere to departmental safety, attendance, and dress code standards.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills & Requirements

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Ability to work at a consistent, moderate pace.

    + Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

    + Active, clear Texas Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Previous experience as a pharmacy technician.

    + National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).

    Work Environment & Schedule

    This role operates in a busy, fast‑paced pharmacy setting and involves frequent standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and walking throughout the day. Additional physical requirements include:

     

    + Finger dexterity for operating office and pharmacy equipment

    + Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

    + Strong visual acuity for reading fine print

    + Close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

    + Ability to hear normal voice levels

    Schedule Details (40 hours per week):

    + Five 8‑hour shifts weekly, including weekdays and every other weekend

    + Two‑week rotating schedule (subject to staffing needs):

    + Opening shift: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Mon–Fri)

    + Closing shift: 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (Mon–Fri)

    + Every other weekend: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Sat & Sun)

     

    The work environment follows all safety, attendance, and dress code standards.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tyler, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
