**Pay Range:** $32.00 - $46.44 per hour
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
The Associate Director of Donor Fund Management supports the strategic and operational oversight of philanthropic financial accounts, ensuring donor intent is honored and financial reporting is accurate and timely. This role collaborates with internal teams across the Office of Philanthropy, including Data, Reporting and Systems, and Stewardship, as well as external partners in Finance, Fund Accounting, and Treasury. The Associate Director assists in audits, fund adjustments, reporting, and contributing to the integrity and transparency of donor fund management. The Associate Director also responds to requests from various Rush departments for the auditing of accounts internally and with external audits, working closely with the philanthropy’s Corporate and Foundation Relations team for the auditing of grants and with the philanthropy’s Stewardship team for the auditing of philanthropic funds (both expendable and endowed).
This position reports to the Director, Gifts and Records Management. The person holding this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision, and values and will act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, or;
• Five years of equivalent experience managing philanthropic funds and nonprofit financial reporting; office experience with use of CRM systems, financial systems, process creation, and project definition and management.
• Basic understanding of accounting and auditing principles; keen attention to detail.
• Familiar with the principles of charitable giving and major gift fundraising practices, including documentation preservation about donor intent compliance and the tracking of conditional pledges/grants.
• Recommend and provide specifications for new reports, including corporate philanthropic reports, collaborating with Rush Finance and other corporate departments.
• Recognizes the diversity of the needs among system owners and can negotiate successfully with systems owners for the benefit of Philanthropy.
• Trains team members and associates on control and compliance practices.
• Strong working knowledge of CRM database and report specifications.
• A high degree of professionalism with excellent customer service and a collaborative interpersonal style.
• Ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiar with standards of the Council for the Advancement & Support of Education (CASE) for transaction recording.
• Ability in standard Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies in the workplace.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Five or more years’ experience in financial reporting and accounting principles
• Accounting/Audit business administration degree or Master of Business Administration degree
Physical Demands:
• No extraordinary requirements; typical office environment; able to work effectively from home as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the auditing and reconciliation of philanthropic accounts, including scholarships, endowed funds, and expendable gifts.
• Support donor reporting efforts by preparing financial summaries and collaborating with Stewardship and Corporate/Foundation Relations teams.
• Reviews gifts and pledge donor agreements to ensure compliance with gift processing and fund management policies.
• Collaborates with philanthropy’s Stewardship team to supply data for reporting and other projects as assigned.
• Monitor and report on aging fund balances, collaborating with gift officers and team-leads to identify and resolve issues; works with Stewardship and team directors to identify causes and remedies. Supports revolving audit of service-line funds, collaborating with gift officers and principal investigators.
• Generates monthly reports and collaborates with relevant parties to address changes; engages Finance when Corporate and Foundation refunds are needed; records changes in the CRM .
• Contributes to the production of new financial and transaction reports as a subject matter expert.
• Applies security protocols when managing and transmitting data, adhering to all legal privacy requirements and ethical standards upheld by regulatory bodies and professional organizations, including, but not limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and standards of the Council for the Advancement & Support of Education, CASE.
• Keep current with associated philanthropic and financial best practices.
• Other related or similar duties as assigned.
