    Daily Hours: 6.5

    Civil Service Title: Student Behavioral Assistant

    Minimum Requirements:

    *Internal candidates only (Current Crisis Intervener)*

     

    Meeting or exceeding standards as determined by the Professional Performance Review Process.

     

    MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK THE ENTIRE SUMMER SESSION (July 6 through August 14, 2026).

    Desired Qualifications:

    Meeting or exceeding standards as determined by the Professional Performance Review Process;

     

    Positively interact with students and staff consistently;

     

    Effectively use verbal and nonverbal communication skills;

     

    Experience in working with students who demonstrate challenging behaviors;

     

    Certification in TCI and/or CPI;

     

    Working knowledge of conflict resolution.

    Position Summary/Responsibilities:

    Provide and/or assist in crisis intervention for students.

     

    Utilize behavior support techniques to help manage aggressive behavior and defuse students in crisis.

     

    Work collaboratively with team members to effectively support all students in program.

     

    Model techniques to support student behaviors.

     

    Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with fidelity.

    Physically able to perform all duties required of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation) including, but not limited to:

    Ability to use approved physical intervention techniques when necessary;

    Lifting and/or carrying (potentially 50 lbs. or greater);

     

    Attending, stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling and/or reaching.

     

    SET UP DAY: 6/29/26 (Attendance Required)

     

    8:00 am to 2:00 pm

     

    (Paid for up to 6 Hours at the individual GUSS member's hourly rate)

     

    This extended school year position will be available pending student enrollment.
