You'll travel across NJ Transit facilities in New Jersey, work with their employees, and stay engaged with the work while stepping into teaching. Responsibilities of a Diesel Technician Trainer:

+ Deliver NJ Transit’s diesel and electronic curriculum through hands-on instruction in classrooms, workshops, and live work settings.

+ Teach diagnostic thinking—not just checklists—using advanced diagnostic software and tools.

+ Work in real-world conditions: tight spaces, lifts, under hoods.

+ Help shape curriculum that meets the demands of NJ Transit’s fleet operations.

Requirements of a Diesel Technician Trainer:

+ 5+ years of experience in diagnostic and repair of:

+ Heavy-duty diesel engines

+ Electrical and electronic control systems

+ Brake systems

+ Ability to explain complex repairs clearly and confidently.

+ ASE certifications or equivalent credentials preferred.

+ Experience with apprenticeship or workforce development programs is a bonus.

+ Teaching or training experience is a plus but not required.

Must live in central NJ, 100% travel within NJ.
