** *PRIMARY DUTIES: * 1. Conducts routine biological procedures such as gel Western blot, protein, immunofluorescence, cell culture, and cell culture-based experiments. 2. Preparation of chemical solutions, media, reagents, stains, and buffers. 3. Conducts immunofluorescence microscopy. 4. Collects, records, and enters research data. 5. Uses computer software programs for data analysis. 6. Performs general housekeeping of laboratory, and operation of laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, meters, microscopes, incubators, autoclaves, and spectrometers Note: The intent of this list of primary duties is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this job. Incumbents perform other related duties assigned. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. * * *MINIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* *Education: *Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science. *Other:* Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. *REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * General knowledge of the principles and practices of natural and/or chemical sciences; of the safe and proper handling and disposal of applicable specimens, materials and equipment.
