    Federal Work-Study – Academic Affairs (Computer Information Systems)

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Federal Work Study assists with general clerical duties for a department in a technical college.

    MAJOR DUTIES

    • Prepares and maintains an inventory database for CIS classroom equipment;

    • Ensures all course software is installed and operating properly in CIS classroom before semesters begin;

    • Identifies outdated equipment and initiates surplus process;

    • Performs set-up and testing on new classroom equipment;

    • Maintains confidentiality;

    • Works a flexible schedule as needed and arrives at work on time;

    • Exhibits cooperative, supportive and professional behavior toward colleagues and the administration;

    • Acknowledges and maintains a clear distinction between professional and personal relationships with students;

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    COMPETENCIES

    • The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 35 pounds

    • Ability to multitask

    • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs

    • Organizational skills

    • Oral and written communication skills

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Current enrollment in a SRTC credit program at the location where seeking employment

    • Eligible for participation in the Federal Work Study Program

    • Satisfactory academic progress for Federal Student Aid programs

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    In addition to the minimum qualifications:

    • Current CIS student

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    • Hourly

    • $13/hour

    • Not eligible for benefits
