    Special Education Teacher – K-2 Semi Self-Contained Classroom

     

    Pay: $40–$45 per hour

     

    Duration: Remainder of the 2025–2026 School Year

     

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

    About the Role

    We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the St. Louis area. This position serves a K-2 semi self-contained classroom, focusing on foundational academic and behavioral skills. You will collaborate with general education staff, write and implement IEPs, and provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

    + Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support in a semi self-contained setting.

    + Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success.

    + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.

    + Track and report student progress toward goals.

    Classroom Details

    + Grade Level: Kindergarten–2nd grade

    + Classroom Type: Semi self-contained

    + Support: Dedicated paraprofessional assistance

    + Caseload: TBD

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).

    + Valid Missouri teaching certificate (Special Education endorsement preferred).

    + Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

    + Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.

    + Ability to comply with all professional standards and state requirements.

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Preferred Certifications

    + Standard Elementary or Secondary Teaching Certification.

    + Special Education Certification.

    + Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement (preferred).

    Additional Requirements

    + Current CPR certification (if applicable).

    + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).

    + Current health certificate (per state or contract regulations).
