    Job Description:

    13-week contract. Extensions common.

     

    As a professional practitioner, the RN – Telemetry assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care for telemetry patients. The RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner, with supervision, and exhibits critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The RN consistently performs according to nursing standards while remaining accountable for providing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on the telemetry unit.

    + Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs.

    + Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.

    + Monitor EKG output and notify physicians of any changes.

    + Record vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, and breathing patterns.

    + Monitor patient progress and update medical records as needed.

    + Respond to patients experiencing cardiac pain.

    + Perform diagnostic tests and administer medications.

    + Monitor and use electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) equipment.

    + Educate patients on cardiac health and communicate with families when applicable.

    + Administer tests, analyze lab results, and report findings to physicians.

    + Document patient care plans, nursing diagnoses, expected outcomes, and interventions.

    + Identify and prioritize actions based on patient care requirements.

    + Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.

    + Revise care plans based on evaluation and changes in medical plans.

    + Document patient responses to interventions.

    + Monitor safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Current Registered Nurse license for the state of practice (or Compact license).

    + At least 2 years of previous Telemetry experience – Required.

    + At least 1 completed travel contract – Required.

    + Current CPR/BLS certification (AHA or ARC).

    + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray if applicable.

    + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

    + Successful completion of Amergis Competency Program when applicable.

    + Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.

    + Strong communication skills and computer proficiency required.

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Shift & Orientation:

    + Shift: Days or Nights (confirm with recruiter)

    + Hours: 3x12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)

    + Weekends/Holidays: Rotation required

    + Upcoming Orientation Dates:

    + Feb 2–3

    + Feb 16–17

    + Mar 2–3

    + Mar 16–17

    + Mar 30–31

    Pay Package:

    + Hourly Wage:

    + Base Rate: $28.00/hr (36 hrs) ? $1,008.00/week

    + OT Rate: $42.00/hr (0 hrs) ? $0.00/week

    + Double Time: $56.00/hr (0 hrs) ? $0.00/week

    + Total Weekly Hourly Pay: $1,008.00

    + Stipends:

    + Lodging: $110/day ? $770.00/week

    + Meals/Incidentals: $68/day ? $476.00/week

    + Total Weekly Stipends: $1,246.00

    + Total Weekly Paycheck: $2,254.00

     

    Local hourly rates are available if you live within 50 miles of the facility
