Educational Sign Language Interpreter – Centennial, CO

Contract Length: Through End of School Year
Hours: 37.5 per week
Pay Rate: $45/hr (Fully Certified)
About the Role
We are seeking Educational Sign Language Interpreters in the Centennial, CO area to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. This role goes beyond interpreting—it’s about developing students and supporting their educational success.
As an interpreter, you will facilitate communication between students and teachers, staff, and peers in an educational setting. Using American Sign Language (ASL), you will interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, ensuring students have full access to classroom instruction, activities, and discussions.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, discussions, and activities.
+ Support students’ educational development by ensuring effective communication.
+ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of practice.
+ Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure accommodations are met.
Minimum Requirements
+ Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in interpreting, deaf studies, or related field (preferred).
+ State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable).
+ Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certification (as required by state or client).
+ Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable).
+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
Certification & Testing
Pay Rates:
+ Fully Certified: $45–$50/hr (EIPA Test taken and passed)
+ Uncertified: $32–$35/hr
