This vacancy is located in the State Office Child Support Enforcement Unit in Baton Rouge, LA.
This is a management position in the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Section within the Department of Children and Family Services. The incumbent in this position directs the daily operations of the Program Policy, Audit, Quality Control, Central Registry, Non-IVD, State Case Registry and Parent Locate Units. The incumbent must possess a proficient understanding of federal laws, federal regulations and state laws pertaining to the Child Support Enforcement Program (Title IV-D).
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in child support enforcement; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in child support enforcement; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in child support enforcement; OR
A master's degree plus three years of experience in child support enforcement.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Assist senior management by evaluating and commenting on current and proposed federal regulations in determining impact upon present program functions.
+ Review and analyze collected data to identify issues that require immediate intervention to prevent federal noncompliance.
+ Develop goals, objectives and strategies to ensure that the program effectively delivers required services.
+ Interpret laws, rules, and regulations.
+ Supervise the development, circulation and issuance of policies and procedures to direct statewide performance.
+ Provide oversight for internal and external audits.
+ Initial point of contact for initiating and responding to intergovernmental child support requests.
+ Assist CSE District Offices and DA offices in resolving issues.
+ Assist in developing and enforcing audit standards, policies, and procedures for the agency.
+ Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Work Schedule: Typically , work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
