Job Description
Job Title: Planner / Scheduler (Maximo)
Job Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating, planning, scheduling, and supporting maintenance activities using Maximo CMMS. This role ensures work orders are properly planned with the required labor, materials, tools, documentation, and safety considerations in place before execution. The Planner/Scheduler plays a key role in optimizing maintenance efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting plant reliability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
+ Review, validate, and approve maintenance work requests for accuracy, scope, priority, labor, materials, and safety; escalate issues to the Reliability Engineer as needed
+ Spend ~30% of time on the production floor to verify job scope, support planning, and coordinate with maintenance and operations teams
+ Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Superintendents to ensure equipment readiness for scheduled and opportunistic maintenance
+ Coordinate with Engineering to ensure all required documentation (drawings, BOMs, procedures, instructions) is available prior to execution
+ Work closely with the Storeroom Coordinator to identify, kit, stage, and secure required parts ahead of scheduled work
+ Coordinate with external vendors to ensure availability of specialized tools, equipment, and technical services
+ Develop job plans and estimates; monitor execution to ensure work is completed within planned labor, materials, and safety expectations
+ Lead planning and scheduling meetings, manage and prioritize the maintenance backlog based on asset criticality, and support shutdown planning
+ Track planning and scheduling KPIs, generate reports, provide feedback before closing work orders, and support CMMS (Maximo) training and usage
+ Promote safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration while supporting corporate reliability initiatives and other assigned projects
Qualifications
+ Minimum 5 years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience using Maximo CMMS
+ Mechanical and/or Electrical background required; post-secondary degree or technical diploma preferred
+ Strong craft knowledge with proven ability to accurately estimate labor hours, materials, and skill requirements
+ Demonstrated ability to visualize, plan, and clearly communicate work execution
+ Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
+ Proven leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities
+ Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving sk
+ Highly organized with strong time-management, prioritization, and multitasking capabilities
+ Ability to create clear, accurate, and easy-to-follow work instructions
+ Proficient in interpreting blueprints, machine drawings, and process diagrams; strong understanding of maintenance processes, planning best practices, storeroom operations, and Microsoft Office tools
Work Schedule:
+ Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
+ Additional hours as needed to support plant operations
+ Approximately 30% of the role requires time spent on the production floor supporting maintenance activities, job planning, and coordination
