Job Description
The Network Engineer is responsible for the overall design, deployment, and performance of the client network. This is a hands-on role requiring broad technical skills across access, transport, and service layers, including FTTH, HFC/DOCSIS, VoIP, IPTV, DWDM, and enterprise-class networking. Work is performed on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a small team, wants to directly improve network reliability and customer satisfaction, and can develop creative solutions while keeping up with new technologies. The role involves tackling complex projects, including creating MOP guidelines and managing data, network, security, and infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain Cisco and Juniper routers/switches, Wireless APs, Calix FTTH systems, and DWDM optical platforms.
• Provision and troubleshoot transport and L2VPN services.
• Support hybrid HFC/DOCSIS 3 networks with Harmonic and Arista CMTS platforms.
• Manage and optimize network services: CGNAT, BNG/RADIUS/AAA, Infoblox DHCP.
• Support VoIP systems and IPTV services.
• Analyze network activity and performance to discover and prevent systematic errors, maximizing efficiency.
• Serves as subject matter expert in routing/switching, traffic load balancing, remote access solutions, and broadband technologies.
• Design and recommend technical solutions for improved system availability and performance.
• Create and maintain accurate documentation (network diagrams, SOPs, configs).
• Collaborate with management in developing procurement requirements and service contracts.
• Interacts with vendors to resolve communications equipment and network system issues.
• Provide training and Tier 3 escalation support for the Network Operations team.
• Participate in change management, network upgrades, and service rollout projects.

Skills and Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in design, deployment, and troubleshooting (preferably in a Service Provider environment).
• Experience working on small teams
• Strong network monitoring and troubleshooting experience
• 3-5 years of experience with IP Routing – OSPF, BGP, ISIS
• 3-5 years of experience with MPLS Services – L2VPN, Psuedo wires, MPLS – IP
• Direct experience in a network design/planning role
• Strong background in an ISP environment
• 3-5 years of experience with Transport DWDM
• Technical degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Familiarity with Firewall/Network security
• Familiarity with Linux and VM administration
