    The mission of the Idaho Industrial Commission is to fairly administer the Idaho Workers' Compensation Law.

    The Idaho Industrial Commission is recruiting for a full-time Paralegal to support the Employer Compliance Manager and the Deputy Attorney General assigned to the Commission in the enforcement of Idaho Workers’ Compensation law.

     

    This position is responsible for preparing complex litigation documents, overseeing active litigation and collection matters, and ensuring accurate legal case tracking. The Paralegal also coordinates workflow activities with the Legal Assistant to support the agency’s objectives.

    Example of Duties:

    1. Assists in assessing the strength of a case, developing a legal strategy and gathering relevant evidence to support the agency’s position.

    2. Drafts legal documents in accordance with the applicable rules of civil and appellate procedure, including drafting legal memoranda of points and law.

    3. Schedules court hearings and monitors case management deadlines to ensure timely action is taken in each case.

    4. Monitors all enforcement actions, including the filing of motions, and preparing evidentiary hearings.

    5. Responds to inquiries from interested parties, attorneys, judicial and department staff regarding the status of cases.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A minimum of three (3) years of experience preparing legal documents and managing litigated cases, including pleadings, collections, and pre- and post-judgment enforcement actions.

    • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.

    • Ability to organize and manage complex case files.

    • Sound professional judgment and discretion.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Good knowledge of the Idaho Workers’ Compensation law, and the Idaho Rules of Civil Procedure and ethics

    • Certified as a Paralegal through an American Bar Association (ABA) approved program
