+ The Music and Audio Research Laboratory is seeking a part time associate research scientist to support development of an automated tool to assess music therapy sessions in collaboration with the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy.
+ The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy provides clinical services for outpatient clients in the New York City area, and also supports research and training.
+ Position summary:
+ The assistant researcher will curate a database of video-recorded music therapy sessions to be used for training of the assessment tool.
+ The assistant researcher will identify video-recorded sessions and accompanying documentation, maintain records, and create descriptions of sessions to appropriately label content. They may also review feedback from the assessment tool and assess relevance for the clinical outcomes of sessions.
+ This position is mostly remote, with approximately 30% onsite work necessary to complete responsibilities.
+ The position will not include any supervisory responsibilities.
+ The expected weely hourly input for this position is 7 hours.
+ This postion is part-time.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications include:
+ A graduate degree in music therapy and previous experience in research are required
+ Post-graduate training in the Nordoff-Robbins approach to music therapy is preferred
