    ### Job Duties

    Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and departmental information.

     

    Assists with the month-end closing process and income statement and balance sheet account review. This includes any monthly accrual journal entries and related miscellaneous accounting adjustments are prepared and posted at month end, and reconcile and adjust the month end closing balances to ensure complete and accurate accounting for the period.

     

    Ensures all assigned general ledger accounts are reconciled effectively and timely on a monthly basis.

     

    Assists with the preparation, reporting and analysis of the companies operating and capital budgets.

     

    Assist with Tribal, Federal and State reporting requirements and timely payment of all payroll taxes, gaming taxes and regulatory fees. W-2’s, Sales and Tribal tax returns, gaming tax returns, 1099’s, W-2G’s, 1042’s.

     

    Assist in coordinating activities with external and internal auditors, as needed; ensures all requested financial and related information is done accurately and timely.

     

    Assist with maintaining Fixed Assets ensuring identifying, recording, reporting, and reconciliations of capital work in progress.

     

    Assists in monitoring and maintaining Accounting Management Information systems, both manual and computerized, creating accounting and related forms as needed.

     

    Assists the daily banking process and maintains relationships with partner banks, working to resolve any variances between property records and banking records.

     

    Assist with financial-related special projects as needed.

     

    Proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.

     

    Must pass a pre-employment drug screening examination.

     

    Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Red Lake Band of Chippewa and the Tribal-State Compact for gaming.

     

    ### Minimum Education Required

    High School Diploma/GED

     

    Associate or Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

     

    Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education.

     

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    At least five years or more Accounting Experience.
