    JOB SUMMARY:

    Supervises the mechanical, controls, and animation maintenance activities across Universal Kids Resort (UKR) theme park. Contributes to routine, capital, and expense budgeting and sets direction and priorities for all maintenance functions within the area of responsibility. Manages and leads technical staff to include continuous improvement, personal development, and administration in area of responsibility. Manages the preventative, predictive, corrective, and annual maintenance activities and seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives. Facilitates the hiring, training, and scheduling of hourly Team Members across Ride & Show. Ensures the safety of both guests and Team Members in all attractions, shows, and water play areas.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Supervises all ride and show maintenance with hands-on involvement for UKR’s attractions, shows, and water play areas. Ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is maintained in like-new condition and leads sustainment initiatives. Responds to attraction interruptions and works to resolve issues in an expedient manner. Partners with Engineering teams—both internal and third-party—on maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement projects. Interfaces with Operations counterparts on a regular basis to ensure delivery of a quality product and maintains a high level of positive customer service. Acts as building/area owner, reporting any issues and managing downtime work activities.

    + Oversees the planning and scheduling process for respective work area to include managing preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and part procurement. Analyzes operational performance of the attractions and manages priorities of maintenance activities. Coordinates work efforts with operational needs of the attractions, working directly with all affected departments to ensure the highest level of customer service.

    + Manages and leads training and development of all direct reports in assigned area. Administers development plans on a regular basis and as required. Manages schedules and personnel records for direct reports. Ensures safety compliance and adherence to all Universal policies and procedures across Ride & Show. Ensures safety is the top priority of Ride & Show team.

    + Ensures operational throughput requirements are supported on a daily basis. Executes a preventative and predictive maintenance plan which minimizes downtime. Maintains records of completed maintenance for all work completed and supports PSQ initiatives. Ensures all areas of responsibility are in compliance with ASTM F-24 guidelines as well as original manufacturer’s requirements.

    + Drives and executes plans for Ride & Show team that directly affect TSAT, GSAT, and safety standards while utilizing existing tools to measure and monitor performance against targets. Develops appropriate action plans to achieve or exceed targets.

    + Focus on fiscal responsibility, ensuring budgets spending is controlled and reported properly. Assists in building mitigation plans for budget overages. Contributes to the building and managing of routine budgets for responsible area to include all expenses needed to achieve goals. Monitors overtime, ensuring only used when absolutely necessary.

    + Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    + Supervises a Non-Exempt team.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    + Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

    CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

    + NARSSO or AIMS Level 1 certification is preferred.

    EDUCATION:

    + Technical school or Associate’s degree (AA) in General Studies, Technology or related field is preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    + 5+ years of experience in operations or maintenance management of a large resort, hotel, or theme park with 1+ year of leadership experience is required, experience within a seasonal or regional theme park is a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
