    Location Description

    Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.

    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY** **:

    The Michael Foods Continuous Improvement Team is offering an exciting opportunity to work as a Reliability Engineer Intern. In this role you will assist in improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime through maintenance strategies. This role involves analyzing failure data, supporting maintenance planning, and contributing to asset management initiatives. This position should also build capability and provide a pipeline of future talent for Michael Foods.

     

    *This is an onsite internship at the Michael Foods facility in Gaylord, MN*

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Be part of the plant continuous improvement team; assist in improvement projects alongside CI Engineer. The Reliability Engineer Intern will learn the practical application of:

     

    + Equipment performance, downtime, and failure mode data analysis

    + FMEA and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).

    + Lubrication management system and maintenance strategy principles

    + Developing problem-solving skills to help teams address day-to-day operational issues and achieve short- and long-term performance goals

    + Preparing and delivering presentations and assisting with formal training programs to build capability across operations and maintenance

    + Organizing and facilitating team meetings to drive continuous improvement initiatives and sustain results

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    + Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program related to mechanical or electrical engineering field.

    + Basic understanding on OEE, plant performance, root cause analysis, process continuous improvement tools.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude

    + Excellent verbal and oral communication skills and be able to influence others.

    + Able to work 10 consecutive weeks during the months of May through August 2026.

    + Eager to learn and challenge yourself; self-directed, detail oriented, reliable and strong initiative.
