Datavant is a data platform company and the world’s leader in health data exchange. Our vision is that every healthcare decision is powered by the right data, at the right time, in the right format.

Our platform is powered by the largest, most diverse health data network in the U.S., enabling data to be secure, accessible and usable to inform better health decisions. Datavant is trusted by the world’s leading life sciences companies, government agencies, and those who deliver and pay for care.

By joining Datavant today, you’re stepping onto a high-performing, values-driven team. Together, we’re rising to the challenge of tackling some of healthcare’s most complex problems with technology-forward solutions. Datavanters bring a diversity of professional, educational and life experiences to realize our bold vision for healthcare.

    About the Team

The Life Sciences Data Discovery team is responsible for building interactive, AI-powered tools that fundamentally change how life sciences organizations find, evaluate, and gain confidence in data.

Our team builds products that allow data providers to showcase their data assets with scientific credibility and transparency, while enabling researchers and data buyers to compare datasets, test study feasibility, and assess fitness-for-purpose before purchase. Our core goal is to build and scale an AI-powered discovery platform and conversational interface that enables natural-language exploration of real-world data, aligned to the highest standards of clinical and scientific rigor. All discovery happens without data egress from the data owner’s environment, creating a differentiated, two-sided value proposition for both buyers and producers of data.

    About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager for the Life Sciences Data Discovery team. In this role, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution for products that sit at the intersection of AI, data science, and life sciences research workflows. You will partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Science, and Go-To-Market teams to deliver a platform that makes it dramatically easier for life sciences companies to find the right data. You will:

+ **Set the vision** for Data Discovery through close partnership with Engineering, Data Science, Scientific leadership, and Go-To-Market teams, grounded in a deep understanding of customer workflows, scientific requirements, and the commercial impact of potential investments.

+ **Maintain relentless customer focus** by obsessing over the problems faced by life sciences researchers, data buyers, and data providers, and by partnering with Engineering and Data Science to ship functionality that meaningfully improves how customers assess data while striking the right balance between impact, complexity, and cost.

+ **Bring clarity to ambiguity** by identifying areas where requirements, ownership, or strategy are unclear, and by providing decisive direction informed by strong judgment, thoughtful analysis, and a deep understanding of both technical systems and scientific context.

+ **Write exceptional product requirements** that provide clarity and motivation for what needs to be built, demonstrating an ability to generate workable solutions, avoid common pitfalls, and anchor decisions in a holistic understanding of the systems the product touches and the ways customers use them in practice.

+ **Drive adoption and impact** through close collaboration with Engineering, Data Science, and Product teams across the organization to integrate AI/ML capabilities, remove obstacles to adoption, and ensure shipped functionality delivers measurable scientific and business value.

+ **Lead by example** by fostering a highly collaborative environment across Product, Engineering, and Science, modeling strong ownership, intellectual honesty, and a bias toward action.

+ **Operate like an owner** by taking responsibility for outcomes end-to-end — from early ideation through development, launch, adoption, and iteration — and by embracing a “no job is too small” mindset to ensure the success of the product, the team, and Datavant.

    About You

+ **You have 5+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or a closely related role** , ideally building data-driven or AI products in healthcare, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry where security, privacy, and rigor materially shape product decisions.

+ **You maintain technical fluency and intellectual curiosity** , and are comfortable engaging deeply with engineers and data scientists, diving into system architecture when needed, and forming strong opinions about tradeoffs even when the path forward is ambiguous.

+ **You have strong organizational and execution skills** , earning trust by owning complex initiatives, managing dependencies, and consistently delivering results in fast-moving environments.

+ **You are highly organized** and have strong project management skills: others are confident in a project’s outcome when they know you’re owning it.

+ **You have high bandwidth and high productivity** : others wonder where you find time to do all you do. Your secret is that you are quick to understand, formulate and respond.

+ **You write exceptional documents** , presentations, diagrams, and mockups. Your documentation leads to discussions about the content, not about what is intended.

+ **You are a great communicator** and have the confidence to lead planning meetings with anyone or any group within the company. You have the ability to explain strategies, rationales and products in terms that each audience can understand.

+ **You are motivated by getting stuff done.** You are wired to both set the big vision and to make continual steps towards that vision. Neither vision setting nor execution is satisfactory by itself to you - you want both.

+ **You are a team player.** You always put yourself in other’s positions and understand their motivations, needs, perspectives and potential points of confusion.
