Key Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Stock, rotate, and maintain fresh produce displays, ensuring quality, freshness, and appearance.
+ Monitor product levels and replenish as needed throughout the day.
+ Inspect produce for signs of spoilage, damage, or quality concerns, removing unsellable items promptly.
+ Set up and break down produce displays and promotional signage.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary department, including coolers, prep areas, and display cases.
+ Assist guests by answering questions, offering product suggestions, and locating items.
+ Prepare value-added items such as cut fruit or packaged produce items when needed.
+ Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines as outlined in company training.
+ Assist in receiving and unloading deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality.
+ Support team members and leadership in achieving department goals and standards.
Guest Service:
+ Greet and assist guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
+ Provide knowledgeable answers to guest inquiries.
+ Promote and exemplify a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication with guests and team members.
+ Provides excellent guest service by acknowledging guests promptly and taking their orders accurately. Prepares and processes the guest’s orders promptly and finalizes their purchase in a friendly manner.
+ Displays excellent problems solving skills and prides themselves on finding the best resolution that exemplifies the “Lee’s Way- doing what’s best for our guests, our team, and our company”.
+ Be familiar with, and assist customers with use of, Lee’s Marketplace website.
Product Handling:
+ Stock shelves and maintain displays according to store standards.
+ Ensure product freshness by watching for quality in receiving, rotating stock and checking expiration dates.
+ Unloading deliveries and organizing stock rooms as needed. Checking all incoming items for quality and expiration dates.
+ Ensure that all perishable items are stored at the correct temperature to prevent spoilage.
+ Use the first-in, first-out (FIFO) system to reduce waste.
+ Follow all recipes and processes accurately to maintain product consistency and quality.
+ Ensure that produce production goods are packaged appropriately to maintain freshness and comply with food safety regulations. This includes using proper containers or wrapping materials to prevent contamination.
+ Ensure that items are correctly labeled with pricing, ingredients, allergen information, and expiration dates.
+ Contribute towards the display of produce goods in the store, ensuring products are neatly arranged and rotated regularly for maximum freshness and appeal.
+ Minimize product waste by tracking production. Adjusts production amounts based on demand to avoid excess unsold goods with direction from Leadership.
+ Ensure that any waste is disposed of properly or recycled according to store policies.
Cleanliness and Safety:
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
+ Ensure that all products are stored at the proper temperatures to prevent spoilage.
+ Consistently utilizing proper hygiene practices including regular hand washing, use of gloves, and proper sanitation of equipment.
+ Ensure that products containing common allergens (e.g., nuts, dairy, gluten) are handled and labeled appropriately to avoid cross-contamination.
+ Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to Leadership.
+ Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
+ Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
+ Contributes towards the cleaning responsibilities in the department.
Team Collaboration:
+ Work cooperatively with team members to achieve store goals.
+ Encourage all team members to reach the highest level of teamwork and guest service at all times. Communicate and support the Lee’s MarketPlace Mission statement and Core Values
+ Assist other departments as needed.
+ Work in a fast-paced, sometimes crowded, production environment with tact and patience.
+ Work with team to ensure products are sold well before their expiration date.
+ Attends departmental, store, and company meetings as required; contributes to profits and revenues and meets productivity standards.
+ Has knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, programs, and directives. Refers to Team Member Handbook continually to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Promotes a harassment-free environment and immediately reports any potential harmful situation to Leadership.

Education and Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Students actively pursuing a high school diploma or GED are welcome to apply
+ No previous work experience required. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn.

+ Age Requirement: 16yrs+ Availability: Flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays according to the needs of the store
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to stand, walk, twist, sit, and bend for extended periods.
+ Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
+ Manual dexterity for handling small objects and operating equipment.
+ Repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip, and balance.
+ Occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl.
+ Prolonged periods standing and walking.
+ Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the store.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
+ Lifting may include floor to shoulder and overhead lifting repeatedly.
+ Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders are required.

Position Summary:
Lees Marketplace is looking for a positive, outgoing and reliable applicant to join their team as a Produce Clerk. As a Produce Clerk you will learn how to properly stock and rotate the produce items, care for a wide variety of products and learn the different ways to utilize the products the produce provides. You will be responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the produce department under the direction and guidance of the Produce Manager while providing excellent customer service to our guests and fellow team members. Primary Position Duties:

+ Help maintain adequate supplies for the department, i.e., produce bags, trays, shrink film, labels, etc.
+ Seeks and maintains a good knowledge of the many varieties of produce products and becomes capable of assisting guests with their inquiries in a prompt and friendly manner.
+ Assists with receiving and displaying merchandise efficiently and promptly.
