**Pay Range:** $45.59 - $74.19 per hour
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
The Executive Recruiter is a strategic talent acquisition professional responsible for identifying, attracting, and recruiting executive-level leadership talent across Rush University System for Health. Reporting to the AVP Talent Strategy and the Sr. Director, Talent Acquisition, this role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on executive search strategy, candidate assessment, and competitive positioning. In addition to managing the full lifecycle of executive searches, this position owns and continuously enhances the executive onboarding experience to ensure seamless integration and early success of new leaders across the health system.
This high-visibility role requires exceptional business acumen, deep understanding of academic healthcare leadership, sophisticated stakeholder management skills, and the ability to represent Rush's mission, values, and culture to top-tier executive candidates nationally.

Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources or related field required.
Experience
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive business experience.
• Experience working directly with senior level executives and leadership teams.
• Ability to network with executive healthcare leaders and industry contacts.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Human Resources Management, or Healthcare Administration.
• 3-5 years focused on executive-level recruitment.
• Professional certification such as Recruiter Academy Certified Recruiter (RACR), Recruiter Academy Certified Sourer (RACS), Certified Healthcare Recruiter (CHR), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent.
• Demonstrated success recruiting for Director-level through senior leadership positions in complex organizations.
• Healthcare or academic medical center recruitment experience highly desirable.
• Proven track record of successfully closing executive searches in competitive talent markets.
• Experience designing and managing executive onboarding or leadership integration programs.
• Experience with physician executive recruitment and credentialing processes.
• Experience recruiting for academic roles including department chairs and center directors.

Responsibilities:
Search Strategy & Execution
• Partners with the AVP Talent Strategy, C-suite executives, and senior leadership to define executive role requirements, candidate profiles, and search strategies for Director-level through Senior Leadership positions across the health system.
• Manages the full lifecycle of executive searches from intake through offer acceptance, including role scoping, sourcing strategy development, candidate identification, screening, assessment, presentation, and negotiation support.
• Conducts complex, confidential executive searches across clinical, administrative, and academic leadership roles.
• Develops and maintains a robust pipeline of passive executive candidates through proactive relationship-building, networking, and market intelligence gathering.
• Utilizes advanced sourcing techniques including direct sourcing , professional associations, executive networks, and industry conferences to identify top-tier talent.
Candidate Experience & Assessment
• Serves as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for executive candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring an exceptional candidate experience that reflects Rush's values and culture.
• Conducts in-depth behavioral and competency-based interviews to assess executive candidates' leadership capabilities, cultural fit, strategic thinking, and alignment with organizational priorities.
• Coordinates and facilitates complex interview schedules involving multiple stakeholders, including C-suite executives, board members, medical staff leadership, and search committees.
• Develops comprehensive candidate presentations and assessments for hiring managers and leadership teams, including market comparisons and compensation benchmarking.
• Oversees executive candidate travel logistics and provides concierge-level support for site visits and interviews.
Market Intelligence & Advisory
• Maintains deep knowledge of the academic healthcare executive talent market, including compensation trends, competitor movements, emerging leaders, and industry best practices.
• Provides strategic counsel to senior leadership on talent market conditions, competitive positioning, compensation strategies, and recruitment approaches.
• Conducts competitive intelligence research on peer institutions and regional healthcare systems to inform recruitment strategies.
• Advises on employer branding strategies to position Rush as an employer of choice for executive healthcare talent.
Executive Onboarding Program Design & Enhancement
• Owns the strategic design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the executive onboarding program across Rush University System for Health.
• Develops comprehensive onboarding frameworks that accelerate executive integration, build relationships across the organization, and support early wins during critical transition periods.
• Creates customized onboarding plans for each executive based on role level, functional area, leadership scope, and organizational priorities.
• Establishes metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure onboarding effectiveness and identify opportunities for program enhancement.
• Benchmarks executive onboarding best practices from leading healthcare organizations and adapts innovations to Rush's culture and needs.
Onboarding Execution & Coordination
• Serves as the primary onboarding contact for all executive-level hires, ensuring seamless execution from offer acceptance through the first 90-180 days
• Partners with department leaders to develop detailed onboarding schedules that include orientation sessions, stakeholder introductions, system tours, cultural immersion activities, and strategic briefings.
• Introduces cross-functional onboarding components including IT setup, credentialing (for clinical executives), compliance training, benefits enrollment, and administrative logistics.
• Ensures executive integration meetings with key stakeholders including board members, medical staff leadership, administrative leaders, and community partners, as appropriate.
• Provides regular check-ins with new executives and their managers to address questions, remove barriers, and ensure successful transitions.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partners with Human Resources, Learning & Development, Compliance, IT, Credentialing, and departmental leaders to deliver integrated onboarding experiences.
• Collaborates with the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to ensure culturally responsive onboarding that supports diverse executive talent.
• Works closely with departmental administrative teams to coordinate role-specific onboarding elements and local integration activities.
• Engages Executive Leadership in new executive welcome activities, mentor assignments, and relationship-building opportunities.
Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement
• Builds and maintains trusted advisor relationships with executives, hospital presidents, senior vice presidents, and department chairs across the health system
• Serves as a strategic partner to the AVP Talent Strategy on executive talent acquisition strategy, diversity initiatives, and recruitment operations.
• Collaborates with external executive search firms when engaged for specialized searches, managing vendor relationships and ensuring alignment with Rush standards.
• Represents Rush at healthcare leadership conferences, diversity recruitment events, and professional associations to build the organization's talent brand.
• Partners with Marketing and Communications on employer branding initiatives targeting executive audiences.
Compliance & Best Practices
• Ensures all executive recruitment activities comply with employment laws, Equal Employment Opportunity regulations, and Rush policies.
• Maintains confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of executive searches and sensitive personnel matters.
• Documents recruitment activities thoroughly in the applicant tracking system and maintains accurate records for audit and reporting purposes.
• Stays current on healthcare industry trends, regulatory changes, and talent acquisition innovations through professional development and continuing education.
