Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

Join our team in a pivotal role as an Electrical Engineer, where you will be responsible for taking full ownership of developing a new electrical system for UAV platforms. This role involves driving the entire process from developing schematics, interfacing with controls, to testing and managing the complete electrical design lifecycle. You will be designing complex systems with a strong focus on wire harnessing, testing, and assembly, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

+ Develop schematics and interface with controls for UAV platforms.

+ Manage the complete electrical design lifecycle.

+ Ensure compliance with industry standards.

+ Collaborate with the engineering team to review and discuss plans.

+ Review and adjust schematics as necessary.

+ Conduct hands-on wiring and integration of the aircraft's electrical systems.

+ Test and implement electrical systems for UAVs.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in designing electrical systems.

+ Proficiency in wire harnessing with hands-on experience.

+ Ability to interpret and execute specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings.

+ Strong understanding of interconnectivity, e.g., managing multiple sources feeding into a program.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD design tools such as Autodesk (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, Vault), EPLAN, or similar platforms.

+ Electrical Engineering degree.

+ US Citizenship (due to ITAR regulations).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Aviation experience is strongly preferred.

+ Experience with PCB design.

+ UAV flying experience is a plus.

+ Possession of or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Work Environment

The role will be on-site, working closely with 2-3 Electrical Technicians. Standard working hours are 8-5, with flexibility (e.g., 07:30-4:30). Overtime may be required on weekends when approaching a deadline, but this is not typical. There is a possibility of travel towards the end of the year, although it is expected to be less than 5%. The work environment is collaborative and hands-on, with opportunities for professional growth and access to learning resources like Udemy after six months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Howell, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
