Job Title: Tool Room Attendant

Job Description

Join a dynamic and expanding machine shop in Santa Ana, CA as a Tooling Attendant/Tool Room Manager for the day shift (5:30 am - 4:00 pm) with overtime daily. This role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20-$30, with potential for higher pay based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

+ Manage all cutting tools, holders, inserts, gauges, and shop tooling from the tool crib.

+ Operate a shrink setter machine.

+ Pick, kit, and stage complete tool sets for jobs based on routers, setups, or CAM tool lists.

+ Issue tools to machinists, receive returns, and track usage, wear, and replacements.

+ Maintain accurate tooling inventory including inserts, endmills, drills, holders, fixtures, and consumables.

+ Pre-set tools (length/diameter), label them, and ensure they are ready for the machine.

+ Coordinate tool regrind, repair, and replacement; manage vendor orders and lead times.

+ Standardize tooling where possible to reduce variation, cost, and setup time.

+ Keep the tool crib organized, clean, and audit-ready.

+ Work closely with programmers, setup machinists, and supervisors to prevent downtime due to missing or incorrect tools.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in inventory management and control.

+ Experience with toolroom and tooling processes.

+ Familiarity with ERP systems and blueprint reading.

+ Strong skills in inventory tracking within a machine shop environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Prior experience in a machine shop is ideal

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $62400.00/yr.
