    As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and documentation of batteries for Motive Power Applications. You will work on designing, developing, and enhancing products that are optimized for cost-effectiveness, reliability, efficiency, and durability. You will be part of a mechanical engineering team and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop products and systems for a wide range of applications.

    Responsibilities

    + Assess design briefs to determine design requirements.

    + Conduct and utilize research on user experience, market trends, and functionality.

    + Develop solutions to solve user problems.

    + Ensure design solutions are user-friendly, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.

    + Create multiple design prototypes using SolidWorks CAD tools.

    + Conduct usability tests and modify products based on test results.

    + Evaluate design solutions against industry standards and regulations.

    + Support vendor development.

    + Manage and control the configuration of technical data in SolidWorks PDM.

    + Create and update bill-of-material (BOM).

    + Implement technical data management within the requirements of an ERP system.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    + 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design.

    + Experience with 1000 hours using SolidWorks.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    + Good understanding of mechanical principles, tolerancing, and strength of materials.

    + Experience using GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 is an asset.

    + Creative problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Proficiency in manufacturing processes, including weldments, sheet metal, and injection molding.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience managing UL or other certifications is a plus.

    + Battery enclosure experience.

    Work Environment

    This position requires you to be on-site at our Alpharetta, GA Headquarters location. You will work in office, product development, and manufacturing environments. The role involves sitting for extended periods while working on a computer, as well as standing and walking during meetings and site visits. Occasional visits to manufacturing sites may require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Travel may be required to meet business needs.

    This is a Contract position based out of Alpharetta, GA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $43.00/hr.
