Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic team responsible for designing and developing electronic displays and guidance systems for tractors. This role involves working on transitioning from an Android-based display to a QT, Linux Display. The position requires rewriting applications, re-coding, and re-architecting systems to enhance tractor functionalities.

Responsibilities

+ Collaborate with Senior Engineers to set weekly goals.

+ Design display and guidance systems using QT, QML and Linux.

+ Interface with Systems Engineers to refine requirements and solutions.

+ Design new feature sets for the platform.

+ Assist with Linux Device development.

+ Contribute to architecture if experienced with QT.

+ Perform unit-tests on code to identify and resolve bugs.

+ Utilize networking for communication with the vehicle (e.g., CAN, LIN).

+ Engage in daily development activities (60-80% of the time).

+ Work on C++ conversion, customer-facing code, and data transmission to tractors.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

+ 3+ years of experience in embedded application development.

+ Experience with QT, QML, and GUI development

+ Proficiency in object-oriented and multithreaded systems.

+ Experience with Linux and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, RS-232).

+ Strong communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of SQL, Postgres, PostgreSQL is advantageous.

+ Familiarity with GIT and Agile methodologies is beneficial.

+ Experience in the automotive industry or similar fields is a plus.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule with a preference for local candidates able to visit the site a few days a week. The workplace is a large corporate facility that includes engineering, manufacturing, and testing areas. The standard hours are 9-5, and the dress code is business casual (khakis and button-down shirts). You will be part of a team of 15+ professionals.

This is a Contract position based out of Oak Brook, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
