    Job Title: Medical Assistant - Back Office FloatJob Description

     

    Join our team as a Medical Assistant, where you will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician. You will handle both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. Your role will support the clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, and treating the patient population. This position requires proficiency in laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.

    + Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management.

    + Examine and treat patient populations.

    + Conduct all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    + Take vitals, preferably manual vitals.

    + Float between various clinic locations as patient queue demands.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting.

    + High School diploma required.

    + MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience required.

    + Phlebotomy experience required.

    + Active BLS certification required.

    + Active driver's license required.

    + Ability to take vitals, preferably manual.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.

    + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.

    + Understanding of basic medical terminology.

    + Awareness of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.

    + Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

    + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.

    + Flexibility and independence.

    + Responsible and organized.

    Work Environment

    This role is 100% onsite with a floating schedule between various clinic locations. Shifts include Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 am to 7 pm, and every-other-Saturday from 7:45 am to 12 pm. Locations include Coral Gables clinic, Homestead clinic, Homestead Pavilion clinic, and West Kendall clinic.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Coral Gables, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25000.00 - $30000.00/yr.
