Aerospace Inspector - GD&T and CMM
Job Description
An aerospace company specializing in cockpit security systems, lavatory equipment, flight controls, and interior/exterior hardware is seeking a CMM Inspector with GD&T experience. This position involves diversified inspection work using engineering drawings, process specifications, material certifications, test reports, and customer documents to verify purchased parts. The role requires creating first article inspections using the AS9102 form, inspecting detailed parts, assemblies, and final deliverable units. Proficiency in using CMM inspection equipment and standard inspection gauges is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Perform general inspection work across various areas, including receiving, in-process, and final shipping inspections.
+ Create first article inspections using the AS9102 form.
+ Ensure equipment and tools are calibrated and managed properly.
+ Follow direction from inspection lead for work assignments and technical guidance.
+ Familiarize with all applicable ARA inspection procedures and recommend improvements.
+ Measure parts to verify dimensional accuracy using standard and special CMM measuring equipment.
+ Test units for specification conformance using measuring test equipment.
+ Approve acceptable parts and prepare necessary documentation.
+ Document non-conforming parts through the Non-conforming Material Report (NCR) and initiate disposition.
+ Work from engineering drawings, process specifications, customer drawings, and test procedures.
+ Maintain all required inspection records.
+ Interact with operators, leads, managers, and outside calibration providers.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in quality control and inspection within aerospace industry.
+ Proficiency in GD&T and CMM inspection equipment.
+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
+ Experience with quality inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and blueprint reading.
+ Knowledge of AS9102 form for first article inspections.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Exposure to mechanical and electrical inspection techniques.
+ Ability to use precision measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, rulers, hardness testers, CMM, levels, and radius gauges.
+ Experience with tolerance levels such as +/- .005 and +/- .0001.

Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with overtime available on Saturdays from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The position requires wearing steel-toed shoes, boots, or safety shoes for safety. The environment is dynamic, with opportunities for overtime and interactions with various team members.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fullerton, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
