Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up, program, and operate 3-axis CNC mills for steel and aluminum parts. The role involves writing, editing, and optimizing CNC programs by hand and using CAD/CAM, as well as operating a laser machine. The Machinist will interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models using Solidworks and Esprit, perform inspections, and verify part dimensions against specifications. They will maintain equipment to ensure machines are operating at peak performance and collaborate with the production team to improve processes and efficiencies. Work with tolerances of +/- .001 is required.

Responsibilities

+ Set up, program, and operate 3-axis CNC mills for steel and aluminum parts.

+ Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs by hand and using CAD/CAM.

+ Operate the laser machine (set up not required).

+ Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models using Solidworks and Esprit.

+ Perform inspections and verify part dimensions against specifications.

+ Maintain equipment and ensure machines are operating at peak performance.

+ Collaborate with production to improve processes and efficiencies.

+ Work with tolerances of +/- .001.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of experience in CNC operations.

+ 5+ years of CNC programming experience.

+ 2+ years of experience in CAD/CAM using Solidworks.

+ 1 year of experience with G-code, tooling, feeds, and speeds.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Solidworks models.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

+ Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

+ Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work in a temperature-controlled machine shop from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
