Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency in reporting processes. This position is based in Austin, Texas, and offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the success of a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct detailed reconciliations for accounts such as inventory, fixed assets, and accounts payable/receivable.
• Manage cost accounting functions, including maintaining standard cost systems and analyzing variances to support inventory processes.
• Collaborate with teams across operations, engineering, and supply chain to enhance financial procedures and controls.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and performing variance analysis for manufacturing-related activities.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations, including environmental and renewable energy tax credit requirements.
• Support external audits by coordinating documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial reporting and enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to less experienced accounting team members. Requirements • Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and preparing financial reports.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
• Experience in performing account reconciliations for various financial categories.
• Skilled in conducting bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Familiarity with cost accounting methods and variance analysis.
• Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and external auditors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor entry level staff in accounting practices.
