Environmental Assistant Safety Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Safety Manager to lead environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory adherence within our facility. This role ensures our operations meet or exceed federal, state, and local environmental regulations while supporting a strong culture of workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance
+ Ensure full compliance with EPA, DEP, and localenvironmentalregulations.
+ Manage and oversee permits (air, water, wastewater, stormwater, waste).
+ Conductenvironmentalinspections, audits, and reporting.
+ Lead annual compliance reporting, including Tier II, TRI, SPCC, RCRA, and NPDES documentation.
+ Maintain accurate records of hazardous waste generation, storage, and disposal.
Safety & Environmental Management
+ Support EHS programs including hazard assessments, injury prevention, and safe work practices.
+ Collaborate with Safety, Maintenance, and Operations to manage risk and reduceenvironmentalimpact.
+ Respond toenvironmentalincidents, conduct root-cause analyses, and develop corrective actions.
+ Coordinate emergencyenvironmentalresponse activities and spill cleanup actions.
Training & Communication
+ Develop and deliver training onenvironmentalprocedures, hazardous waste handling, and regulatory compliance.
+ Serve as a point of contact during inspections from regulatory agencies.
+ Provideenvironmentalguidance to leadership and frontline teams.
Continuous Improvement
+ Lead sustainability projects focused on pollution prevention, water reduction, energy efficiency, and waste minimization.
+ Implement and monitor KPIs related toenvironmentalperformance.
+ Drive improvement inenvironmentalmanagement systems
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree inEnvironmentalScience, Safety, Engineering, or related field.
+ 3–5 years ofenvironmentalcompliance or EHS experience in manufacturing, food production, industrial, or related industry.
+ Strong knowledge of EPA, RCRA, SPCC, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act requirements.
+ Experience managing hazardous waste andenvironmentalreporting.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office andenvironmentalcompliance systems.
Preferred:
+ Professional certifications (CHMM, REM, CSP, or similar).
+ Experience in high-volume manufacturing or food production facilities.
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
