    Clinical Nurse Educator – Procedural Services

     

    Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an experienced and highly skilled **Clinical Nurse Educator** to oversee education across multiple **procedural services** , including **Bronchoscopy, Endoscopy, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, and Pain Management** .

     

    This role provides educational leadership across procedural areas by focusing on standardized orientation, competency validation, and ongoing professional development.

     

    The Clinical Nurse Educator partners closely with nursing leadership, clinical specialists, and the Center for Clinical and Professional Development to support consistent, high-quality nursing practice across procedural services.

    Position Summary

    Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager and in collaboration with the Associate Chief for the Center for Clinical and Professional Development, Nurse Managers, and Assistant Nurse Managers, the Clinical Nurse Educator oversees education and competency development across multiple procedural units.

     

    Practicing within the Lahey Clinic Professional Practice Model, the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, and ANA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, the Clinical Nurse Educator promotes excellence in nursing practice by serving as both a clinical expert and an educational resource to nursing staff. Accountability, continuity of care, and high-quality patient outcomes are central to this role.

     

    Domains of Practice

    The Clinical Nurse Educator demonstrates safe and effective practice across the following domains:

    + Clinical judgment and decision-making

    + Nurse–patient/family relationship

    + Clinical leadership

    + Clinical scholarship

    Key Responsibilities

    + Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive orientation programs for all procedural service areas

    + Standardize and ensure compliance with competency requirements and regulatory standards across procedural units

    + Collaborate with Nurse Managers and clinical specialists to design unit-specific and service-line education initiatives

    + Serve as an expert clinical and educational resource for nursing staff across procedural services

    + Promote evidence-based practice, professional development, and clinical scholarship

    + Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives across procedural areas

    + Facilitate coordination of care and educational consistency across the procedural continuum

    Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in nursing required

    + Current Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association require

    + Minimum of 5 years of current, relevant nursing experience in one or more procedural areas (e.g., Endoscopy, Cath Lab, EP Lab, Bronchoscopy, Pain Management) required

    + 1–3 years of training, education, or staff development experience required

    + Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

    + Demonstrated ability to lead educational initiatives and mentor nursing staff

    Skills & Knowledge

    + Advanced knowledge of procedural nursing practice and competency-based education

    + Strong understanding of adult learning principles

    + Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple units and interdisciplinary teams

    + Proven ability to support professional development and maintain high standards of clinical practice

    + Commitment to excellence in patient care and nursing education

    Pay Range:

    $81,640.00 USD - $210,433.60 USD

     

    The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
