Job Description
We are looking for a **Health Information Admin** to support the state cancer registry with data management and reporting tasks. This position will be a **full-time contract** role with and **hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).**
What You’ll Do
+ File incoming cancer data reports from healthcare facilities (electronically store faxed and mailed information)
+ Conduct death clearance follow-back (detailed guidance and orientation will be provided; this task starts in April)
+ Perform data pulls for virtually pooled registry requests from the research community or national agencies for approved studies (guidance and orientation will be provided)
+ Update cancer reporting healthcare facility contact information in software systems SEER*DMS, Web Plus
+ Participate in developing registry policies and procedures to standardize operations (co-write SOPs under guidance)
What You’ll Need
Required:
+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (healthcare administration, public health, etc.)
+ Minimum two years of experience in roles related to collecting and managing data in healthcare or healthcare administration
+ Advanced skills in Microsoft Enterprise tools (Word, Excel, Teams)
+ Familiarity with confidentiality and privacy regulations related to healthcare data, with the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to multi-task and work independently
Preferred:
+ Certified as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS), formerly Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR), or prior experience as a cancer registrar
+ Minimum two years of experience as a cancer registrar or similar role
Physical Demands
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
+ Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$25 - $30 per hour
The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
