Material Handler
INTRODUCTION
This position facilitates the movement of raw materials throughout the plant, from receiving to the various manufacturing areas for completion and back to shipping.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Unloads inbound shipments of raw materials and verifies for accuracy
* Creates and affixes pallet tags to identify material
* Moves raw materials to a stock location
* Acknowledges location of materials in the system
* Optimizes stock locations on an ongoing basis
* Retrieves stock as necessary for jobs
* Moves WIP to operational areas as necessary
* Manifests and loads recycled material on to recycle truck
* Puts overstock to designated location
* Conducts cycle counts and full inventory counts as necessary, working with respective Inventory analysts to reconcile
* Performs other job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
* Certified to operate heavy material handling machinery (electric pallet jack, forklift, reach truck)
* Ability to read and write instructions, correspondence, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
* Basic mathematical skills
* Experience with or become comfortable with RFID scanners
* Able to use computers for finding information, entering information, writing, and sending email
* Maintain good attendance
* Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods
* Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation
EDUCATION
* High school diploma preferred
