    Crane and VTE Supervisor

     

    Type: Exempt

     

    Work Schedule: Full-Time

     

    Compensation: $ 115,450 -$121,824 (HMG's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)

    HMG is seeking a knowledgeable and safety-driven Crane and Vertical Transport Equipment (VTE) Supervisor. The Supervisor oversees operations involving cranes and other heavy lifting or specialized transport equipment, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient lifting activities across all work sites.

    Typical duties include but are not limited to:

    + Plan, coordinate, and directly supervise all lifting and rigging operations in accordance with approved lift plans.

    + Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, including equipment setup, weight limits, and hazard mitigation procedures.

    + Halt operations immediately if unsafe conditions or practices are identified .

    + Inspect cranes and lifting equipment regularly to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with maintenance standards.

    + Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacements as required .

    + Lead, train, and mentor crane operators, riggers, and support personnel to maintain skill competency and compliance.

    + Ensure only qualified, certified, and authorized individuals to perform lifting operations.

    + Collaborate with site leadership to ensure lifting operations align with project timelines and safety goals.

    Qualifications:

    + Highschool Diploma/GED is required .

    + 3-5 years' experience in crane operating.

    + Valid crane operator certification and relevant licenses (e.g., NCCCO).

    + Significant experience as a crane operator, rigger, or in a related field involving heavy equipment.

    + Strong leadership skills, the ability to direct and coordinate a team, and excellent communication abilities are critical.

    + A thorough understanding of crane operation, maintenance, regulations, and relevant calculations is required .

    Physical Requirements:

    Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance . The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

     

    + Must be able to lift and/or move up to 7 5 pounds.

    + May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required .

    + Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

    + A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
