    Position Details:

    • Start Date: ~2 weeks after offer acceptance

    • Duration: Full 2025–2026 School Year

    • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:30 PM

    • Location: Duxbury, MA

    About the Role:

    Lead a substantially separate classroom for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disabilities.

     

    • Grade Level: 3rd–5th grade

    • Classroom: Sub-separate program with 3 students

    • Team: Collaborate with two experienced paraprofessionals (third being hired)

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

    • Develop behavioral plans using ABA principles

    • Deliver academic and behavioral instruction

    • Supervise and guide paraprofessionals

    • Collect and analyze student progress data

    Qualifications:

    • DESE Elementary Special Education Teacher Licensure

    • Experience with Autism and behavioral challenges

    • Knowledge of ABA strategies and IEP implementation

    The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

    + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

    + Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

    + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

    + Current CPR if applicable

    + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

    + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
